How to Cut Event Ticket Fees: See How Much You Could Save

Do you run events? If so, you’re probably paying more in ticketing fees than you realise.

We didn’t think much of it either until we looked properly.

Back in February, we hosted a charity comedy night. We sold 118 tickets, and the total fee from our ticketing platform came to £70.80. Not outrageous but not nothing either, especially when every pound could have gone to charity.

That got us thinking, how much are event organisers losing to ticketing fees every year?

So we challenged ourselves to find a better way.

That’s how TicketOtter was born.

Based on that same event, 118 tickets sold, our pricing model would have brought the cost down to just £25. That’s a saving of £45.80 on a single event.

And if you’re running events regularly, those savings quickly add up.

Whether you organise one-off events or monthly nights, reducing ticketing costs is one of the simplest ways to increase your margins or pass more value on to your cause.

TicketOtter began as a fix for a problem Comedy At Work kept hitting - event tickets priced fairly for organisers and audiences alike. It worked so well the trio decided to share it with the world.
