Sell gift cards

Sell gift cards beside your tickets, or on a page of their own, and see every card's balance.

Gift cards let people buy credit for someone else to spend on your events. Buyers choose an amount and send the card by email; the person who gets it types the code into the discount box at checkout. Balances are tracked for you, so a card can be spent over several orders.

Gift cards are an add-on. If you haven't got it yet, press Unlock on the Gift cards tab, or go to Add-ons in the menu.

Set up your gift cards

  1. Go to Discounts & gift cards and open the Gift cards tab.
  2. Press Add gift card.
  3. Give it a Name and a Description buyers will see.
  4. Under Amounts (£), type each amount you want to sell and press Enter after each one, for example 10, 25 and 50. Switch on Let buyers choose their own amount if you'd like them to pick, between a minimum and maximum you set.
  5. Choose how long it's Valid for after it's bought.
  6. Leave Redeemable on empty so it works on all your events (including future ones), or pick the events it can be spent on.
  7. Press Create.
  8. Switch on Sell gift cards at the top of the tab.

To take payment for gift cards you need a way to get paid set up under Payments (card payments with Stripe, PayPal or bank transfer), the same as for paid tickets.

Where people buy them

Once selling is switched on, your gift cards appear:

  • On your event pages, under the tickets. A card that only works on certain events only shows on those events' pages.
  • On your showcases, as a Gift cards section.

There's no separate shop link of their own, so if you want a page just for gift cards, use a showcase:

  1. Go to Showcases and press New showcase. Call it something like "Gift cards".
  2. Under Branding and design, in Page elements, switch off Event list & calendar and anything else you don't want (cover image, about, FAQs, social links). Keep Gift cards and Header (Logo & Headline) on.
  3. Pick a theme and colour, and press Save changes.
  4. Press Publish, then copy the link or QR code from the top of the showcase and share it.

See the cards you've sold

Press Sold cards on the Gift cards tab. You can search them, see what's left on each one, resend a card to its recipient, adjust a balance or cancel a card. Cards already sold keep working even if you stop selling gift cards.
